About The Youth Program
The youth program here at Fairview Church of Christ is a
program devoted to helping young people grow in faith in Christ,
and have a deeper fellowship with each other.

This program has many different opportunities for young people
of all ages. There are 3 different age groups.

Senior Youth - 9th - 12th grade
The Senior youth group has a devotional every Sunday night
following the evening service. Also once a month there is a pre
planned activity for them to participate in, and twice a year there
are *retreats for them to go on.   The activities are not limited to
1 a month but 1 activity is guaranteed.

Junior Youth - 6th - 8th grade
The Junior youth group has a devotional every Sunday night
following the evening service. Also once a month there is a pre
planned activity for them to participate in, and once a year there
is a  *retreat for them to go on.   The activities are not limited to
1 a month but 1 activity is guaranteed.

Elementary Youth - K - 5th grade
The elementary youth group has a devotional once a month
on the third Sunday night after the evening service with both the
senior and junior youth groups. They also have an activity every
few months for them to participate in. Such as a day trip to the
Junior youth retreat, play days at Chuckee Cheese, Pump it Up,
Christmas party, and so on.

Bible Hour - Bible Hour is a program designed for the
elementary group during the evening service on the first Sunday
night of the month. There are lessons, puppet shows, and many
other activities for the younger children to take part in.

Lads to Leaders - The Lads to Leaders program is for people
from Kindergarten to College Age. There are many different
things to get involved with in this program. Bible Reading, Song
Leading, Speech, Art, Debate, Bible Bowl, Scripture
memorization, and many others. Young people practice and
study all year long to go the Lads to Leaders Convention at the
Opry Land Hotel in Nashville, TN.

Devotionals - Devotionals are after evening services on Sunday
nights. They are held at different members of the church's
homes. On the 3rd Sunday night all groups meet together in the
annex of the church building.  The devos consist of singing
praises, time spent in prayer, and hearing lessons given by a
youth leader or by a young man their own age. These are time
that the youth get to reflect on problems they are struggling with
as well as time for study and worship to God.

*Retreats - Retreats are just what the word means. A retreat
from the "world". They are trips to different camps to allow the
young people to worship and learn about God in an atmosphere
away from most worldly things. Retreats consist of Bible study,
singing praises, prayer, small group discussions, skits ( not during
worship times), activities, games, mixers and much much more.
These trips help focus young peoples lives in the right direction
and get them fired up to help them face the world.

5th Sunday Nights - On 5th Sunday nights the young men of
the Junior and Senior youth groups get opportunities to direct the
worship service. Leading prayer, leading singing, serving on the
Lord's table, and giving the sermon.

Summer Youth Series - During the summer there are area wide
devotionals held across the middle TN area. Every Thursday
night during the summer we attend theses devotionals. We meet
at the building and leave from the there to the hosting
congregation.

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you
but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will
not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will
with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may
be able to bear it.
1Timothy 4:12-16 Let no one look down on your
youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and
purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.
Until I come, give attention to the public reading of
Scripture, to exhortation and teaching.
Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was
bestowed on you through prophetic utterance with the laying
on of hands by the presbytery.
Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that
your progress will be evident to all.
Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching;
persevere in these things, for as you do this you will ensure
salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you.
2Timohty 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing
the word of truth.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go,
Even when he is old he will not depart from it.
